Emma and Abby

Emma loves her baby sister! In the first picture she was saying, "Abby I'll be your best friend." and in the second, she was saying, "I love you all the time Abby." She is always very concerned about Abby being warm enough and lets me know when she is crying. Emma is already a fantastic big sister and I know their bond will only grow stronger. It will be such a joy to see them grow up together!

38 weeks

I had another check-up yesterday and I am now officially 3 cm dilated and nothing else has changed much. I am doing well except for a sinus infection I'm dealing with. It's hard to like being pregnant when you can't breathe very well! Maybe that's why I haven't gone into labor yet, because my body is more focused on oxygen than contractions! haha.

I, of course, will keep you posted on our progress! I can't wait to be able to announce Abby's arrival and be able to share pictures of her with you all!

Time is nearing!

I had a check-up yesterday and things are moving along. Not to get anyone too excited, it may still be weeks but I am progressing.

I am 2, almost 3 cm dilated and still halfway thinned out, but Abby has moved down into position and my midwife said she can feel Abby's head when she checked me! My next appointment is next Monday. Although I keep thinking that this weekend would so fantastic to have her, with it being Mother's Day and all, what a great gift that would be!

I'll keep you all posted. Oh! And we got a new camera so hopefully we can have some more pictures for your viewing pleasure!

Love to you all.

Precious time

Emma fell asleep on my chest and I realized these precious moments between she and I, alone will be a thing of the past soon. She will always be my little baby. I think back over her last two years and how many times I have held her like this. As time passes, she takes up more and more room on my lap and in my arms but I never stop enjoying the feeling of her head on my chest and getting to look her over smelling the way she smells and I can't help but give her a million kisses on her head.

*Please ignore the double chin of mine, hopefully it will go away soon! Hahaha

The Zoom

That's what Emma calls the zoo. She says, "Mama, can we go to the zoom and see animals?" She had a blast getting to go in the petting zoo (this was the first time I let her go in). She was not afraid of the animals at all. She walked right up to them and pet them. She just loved it. It's amazing how much difference a year makes. Last year she was interested but this year she is so much more interactive. She can name the animals and tell me what sound they make etc. It was really cool to see her face light up and actually ask to see specific animals like the bears and monkeys. Here are a couple pics of her in the petting zoom, I mean zoo.

36 week check-up

Everything is looking great! My blood pressure was good, my weight gain was only 2 pounds, I am 2cm dilated and 50% thinned out. So, things are starting! It could still be weeks before she is born but at least I only have to get 8cm during labor and not 10! hee hee.

Here is my 36 week picture

Things are really starting to come together. I have gone through clothes, washed and hung them up, the car seat has been washed but needs to be installed, we got her bed out to set up. I still need to pack a bag for the both of us but I guess that can be done pretty easily.

I think we are ready for her to get here. I know Emma is ready, and I think she is really going to be a big helper for me. She is such a little mother to her own baby dolls, she wraps them up and carries them so gently, singing "Rock-a-Bye Baby" to them. She is so sweet!

I can't wait to be able to update you all to let you know she is here and share pictures of her! I'm so excited to see who she looks like.
