I think most people who know me would say that I am more of a left-brained person. I tend to be more logical and reality-based. What you might not know is that I really do have a bit of right-brain that trys to take over every so often.
I went to my parent's house the other day and while I was there I picked up an old piano keyboard that had been around since my youth. I started playing a few songs, but nothing much more complicated than "Three Blind Mice" and thought that it would be nice if I were a little more proficient. I remember I used to like to draw cartoon animals when I was younger but they never were all that impressive, artistically speaking. Now, if I draw anything it tends to be a floorplan of a building or a building plan for a woodworking project, full of straight lines and measurements.
I wonder what personality Emma will end up with. Shana is somewhere right of me, but it seems to me she is more left-brained than right-brained. I think it is likely that Emma will end up being a left-brainer as well. She is going to be an oldest child (no news on that front yet but check back for updates) like her Mommy and Daddy. I believe in the birth order theory, Shana and I both seem to be a bit more serious and responsible than our younger siblings. But on the other hand, they tend to have more fun while still leading productive lives.
The picture above is my artistic side creeping out. We don't have any new pictures to post at the moment, so I thought I would post a picture of our beautiful daughter in a different format. She is quite a work of art. Her Mommy and I are very proud of her. Luckily computer technology allows me to create art that my hands just cannot manage on their own.
I know my posts are sometimes more fun and entertaining, so here is an observation I had the other day: I was driving down the highway and saw a sign that read "Damaged Guardrail" and it got me thinking. What is the purpose of such a sign? Guardrails are usually placed along the road to keep a car from running into a structure or going down a steep drop-off. Few people purposefully drive into a guardrail, contact usually happens when the vehicle is out of control. So again I ask, what purpose does the sign serve? Is an out of control driver going to see the sign and think: "I guess I better wreck somewhere else?" I don't have a good answer, but be on the lookout next time you are rolling down the road. Another sign I see a lot is a small orange sign that reads "End Road Work" which I guess was placed there by road construction protestors. I hope their movement catches on, traffic really gets backed up this time of year because of all of the construction.

Travis,
This is your mother. I really do love you and all of your quirkiness. I tried my hardest to make you more right-brained, sometimes you resisted. As far as birth order. Can you imagine Jimmy as the oldest child? I think he would still be "Jimmy". He would have been a good role model for you. Life is good!
HERE'S YOUR SIGN!!!!!!
